natAmour® Ashwagandha – high-quality Shoden® extract with 35 % withanolides
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) belongs to the nightshade plant family (Solanaceae), also known as sleeping berry or winter cherry. It is mainly found in dry areas of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, but can also be found in some parts of Africa and the Mediterranean region. The root of the small evergreen shrub (30 to 150 cm) is mostly used for food supplements. These have a distinctive smell that gives ashwagandha its name (“smell of the horse”). In addition to the root, the leaves of ashwagandha can also be used.
Shoden® Ashwagandha is a highly potent and standardized extract of ashwagandha (root and leaves) developed to deliver optimal levels of withanolides – the biologically active substances found in ashwagandha. With a guaranteed minimum of 35% withanolides, Shoden® positions itself as one of the most concentrated ashwagandha extracts currently available. In contrast, conventional ashwagandha products typically only have a withanolides content of around 2-5% or must be taken in significantly higher quantities.
The outstanding property of Shoden® Ashwagandha lies in its excellent bioavailability, which ensures that the effective ingredients can be optimally absorbed and utilized by the body. This optimized absorption capacity makes it particularly effective in supporting the body during stressful phases.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), also known as sleepberry or Indian ginseng, is a plant that has a long history of use in traditional systems such as Ayurveda. In these traditions, ashwagandha is associated with various properties: it is said to be able to support overall balance and play a role in traditional use to promote the body’s adaptability to various demands. In addition, aspects such as the botanical name “somnifera” (sleep-inducing) and the name meaning “smell of the horse” (traditionally a reference to attributed restorative qualities) suggest traditional associations with calmness, vitality and the support of general well-being.
